Pintucking...
The collar of the Shieldmaiden Dress Chemise is pintucked... I did seven rows of pintucks around my collar... With the tools I used to do it, it was really not as hard as it might look, and afterwards, I had a wonderful feeling of accomplishment...

I used a pintucking foot... It is a foot that has seven or nine grooves underneath, (mine has seven...) and it helps when you have subsequent rows of pintucks, by grabbing the last one done, and keeping the pintucks even... Here is a photo of the bottom of the pintucking foot:

I also used a special twin needle, to sew in two threads at once...

Then, I drew two threads through the machine, using two thread stands, one I have on the machine, and another one I find useful most all the time...

I doubled the layers of fabric, to stabilize... The pintucks do not pucker as much, but come out much straighter that way...  With the grooves in the pintuck foot, it is not really necessary to use a quilter's guide on the foot, but I still find it helpful...

The second row:  Here you can see how the groove on the far left of the foot is grabing the first row of pintuck...
