Captain Julien Bel's Charcoal Ensemble Portrait Page
Welcome to Yvette's
a costume site
October 30, 2007:
On our recent trip to NYC, Captain Julien had the opportunity to entertain the locals.  Here follow a few portrait photos, mostly taken in Central Park, Madison Square Park, and on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Captain Julien's ensemble was inspired by a fabric find I mentioned on my justaucorps construction page.  It is the first time I have made a costume from my imagination, based upon how men dressed at about 1700.  The costume itself inspired the creation of a character: Captain Julien.  I am currently writing his story, and hope to eventually get it published.

Thank you for visiting!

June 11, 2009:
This photo is a from ConQuest 40, from a photo taken in May, 2009. The photos below it are older, and from before the time I started using drag makeup. I manipulated the photo to get it to look like an oil portrait.
The Captain is a fictional character born from the creation of this ensemble. I had to know who the suit belonged to. One creative endeavor followed another: Now I'm writing his tales, a series of novels of his adventures.
